Living with Cancer
Ernest H. Rosenbaum, MD, Malin Dollinger, MD, Isadora Rosenbaum, MA, and Lenore Dollinger, RN, PhD
Cancer used to be thought of as a virtual death sentence. Yet more and more people have
learned to view this disease in a very different light. Many now recognize that living with
cancer means learning to live with a chronic disease. It means learning how to manage symptoms and treatments while returning
to as many of the normal activities of
daily living as possible.
It's important to have life go on as
usual or at least as close to usual as
you can make it. Maybe you won't
be able to take a planned vacation.
